Jürgen is in early retirement since late 2018, but still engaged in advising start-up companies, particularly in the FinTech space.

He served as Vice President IT for Union Investment in Frankfurt, Germany from 1997 to 2018, being responsible for business processes and IT support in the investment process.

Prior to that Jürgen worked for 8 years at Lufthansa German Airlines in various IT projects, around decision support systems.

From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a consultant for Symbolics, a company specializing in AI systems.

Jürgen holds a diploma in mathematics and computer science from Technical University Darmstadt. Before starting his career in IT he worked for 4 years as a research assistant at USC Columbia and the Technical University Darmstadt, his main research interest being in combinatorics and graph theory.
